My name is Ron Davis. I returned home after serving in the United States Air Force in 1981 and started working in construction. I started out building pole barns. It was a great place to start. It taught me many skills. Framing, roofing, building forms and pouring cement, hanging doors, and setting windows, just to name a few. It also showed me the value of putting in a hard day and taking pride in my work.
After that I worked for a custom home builder and helped build some beautiful homes in West Central Indiana. Homes with shake roofs, quarter turn staircases, and cedar closets. Homes that had landscaping alone that cost more than the total cost of many homes. One house I helped build was featured in the magazine “Midwestern Living”.
I started and ran my own business for a time after that because I enjoyed the independence, physicality, and solitude of being my own boss. I also bought and sold several fixer-upper homes. Deciding to cross-train in the 1990s, I went to school to learn Aircraft Maintenance and have only done carpentry work for myself and friends since then. I still love working outside with my hands and do it every chance I get.
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
Today new home construction and or remodeling can be very expensive. Many people would like to do some work themselves but are afraid to tackle the larger jobs. It’s not that they don’t have the ability, they are just lacking in knowledge and don’t have the right tools for the job. I’d like to give them guidance and show them the right tools used to help them out.
THE GOAL OF qualitycarpentrytools.com
The purpose of this website is to help people understand the right tool for a particular job and where to get the quality carpentry tools they need.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
Ron Davis – Founder
